Nozari Elected as Oil Minister

217 Members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly gave vote of confidence to the President’s nominee and elected Gholam Hossein Nozari as Oil Minister. Out of the 246 representatives present at the time of voting, a number of 217 MPs voted for, 20 against and 9 abstained and thus, Nozari was elected Oil Minister.

Nozari served as caretaker of the oil ministry for several months before being elected.
