Death toll in Iraq suicide bomb blast rises to 11

BAGHDAD – The death toll in a suicide bombing on the northern outskirts of Baghdad on Monday reached 11, including five children and six neighborhood patrol volunteers, an Interior Ministry source said.

The source said the attack was a suicide car bomb, which hit a neighborhood patrol checkpoint near a school. Seven patrol volunteers were wounded. Earlier, police had said the attacker detonated a vest packed with explosives.
