Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned that the enemies of Muslims are trying to turn the “war of people with occupiers†into a “war of people with people†in Iraq and Palestine.
Addressing Tehrani worshipers on Friday marking the 19th of the holy month of Ramadan the supreme leader called on all Muslim nations particularly in Iraq and Palestine to be aware and vigilant in the face of the plots of the US and the Zionist regime.
Ayatollah Khamenei also described the victory of the Lebanese nation against the Zionist regime as the victory of the Islamic Ummah and noted: Those who were defeated during the Lebanon war have resorted to killing innocent Palestinians in the Gaza strip and the West bank in a desperate bid to make up for their humiliating defeat in Lebanon and to contain the consequences of their resounding defeat. Ayatollah Khamenei said: During the Israeli invasion of Lebanon nations once again after the victory of the Islamic Revolution experienced that the only way to victory is the faith-based resistance against the oppressors and bullying powers, even if the resister is small civilian group and the opposite power is the number-one army of the world backed by the United States. The supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution described the victory of Lebanon’s Hezbollah against the Zionist regime as a historical and unique phenomenon, which the enemies did not expect. He added: Through exerting political pressures they are trying to weaken Lebanon and prevent Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement from becoming more powerful. The supreme leader further stated: Although the mission of the United Nations Interim Forces in South Lebanon (UNIFIL) is to defend innocent Lebanese people against foreign aggressors the enemies are trying to change its mission and put it against Hezbollah and of course the countries which have dispatched troops to South Lebanon know well that they should avoid confrontation with the Lebanese nation and Hezbollah movement. Ayatollah Khamenei also described unity as the main requirement of Muslims particularly the Iraqi people. He further said: The US policy in Iraq is to fuel terrorism and Americans are meddling in the works of the Iraqi President and Prime Minister as well as the security and financial affairs of Iraq. The leader asserted: Iraqi Shiites and Sunnis over the past centuries have always lived together peacefully but the United States tries to sow discord among them.
