Montenegrin PM Igor Lukšić and the opposition reached an agreement Thursday on the name of the language and subject in the Montenegrin education system.
The agreement opens the possibility for the opposition to support the election bill at the parliament.
Lukšić and the opposition agreed that the subject in schools be named Montenegrin-Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian language and literature.
The adoption of the election bill, which is the first condition Brussels set to Montenegro to obtain the date for negotiations on a full-fledged EU membership, requires a two-thirds majority at the parliament.
The prime minister said that an agreement had been reached with the opposition, which will ensure the adoption of the election legislation at the parliament, that is remove this obstacle from Montenegro’s European pathway.
