The Croatian government in Zagreb on did not back down from the draft law on the annulment of indictments issued in Serbia.
Jadranka Kosor’s cabinet even proposed a declaration alongside this regulation claiming that Serbia had violated the sovereignty of Croatia.
The Croatian government insisted on the passage of the law which proclaims null and void all indictments issued by the Yugoslav People’s Army, the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Serbia against Croatian citizens for crimes committed during the war in Croatia in the 1990s.
Now under the proposed declaration it is claimed that Serbia violated Croatia’s sovereignty by passing a law which proclaimed its judicial bodies competent for holding trials for certain crimes committed in the territory of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ).
