Quake Hits Northeastern Iran

An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale jolted the town of Dasht-e Kavir in Iran’s northeastern province of Semnan on Friday. According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake was registered at 09:20 hours local time (0550 GMT).

There are yet no reports on the possible number of casualty or damage to property.
