Boko Haram suspected after 11 killed in Adamawa, NE Nigeria

Yola – Suspected Boko Haram fighters killed 11 people in attacks against three villages in Nigeria’s Adamawa State northeast, an MP and local official said Friday.
The attacks Wednesday night at Kubu Bitiku and four deaths, while seven were killed early Thursday morning in Kirchinga.
The three villages are in northern Adamawa state, near the city of Madagali and the border with Borno state, which was most affected by the Islamist insurgency.
Just over the state border is Sambisa forest, which has long been a bastion Boko Haram.
Adamu Kamale, representing Madagali Michika areas and House of Representatives of Nigeria, blamed the attacks on remnants of Boko Haram and said people needed more protection.
“We need more security personnel, our villages share borders with Sambisa Forest,” he said.
