Sudan Dialogue to include disputed areas bordering S Sudan, Egypt

The 7+7 coordinating committee of Sudan’s National Dialogue has agreed to add participants from disputed areas near Egypt and South Sudan, the dialogue’s secretary general said Thursday.
Hashim Ali Salem told the press at Friendship Hall that Zachariah Atem from Abyei, Issa Hassan from Halayeb, and Ahmed Osman from Shalateen were chosen to participate in the National Dialogue, according to Ashrooq network. Halayeb and Shalateen are along the Sudanese-Egyptian border while Abyei is contested with South Sudan.
Salem said they also made some changes in the Foreign Relations Committee with Ambassador Omar Barido selected to head the committee and Ambassador Osman Al Saed chosen as his deputy.
Salem said all thematic committees are moving steadily towards achieving its goal. He denied withdrawal of some political parties and armed movements from the National Dialogue.
