Iranian deputy foreign minister underlined the need for the rapid annihilation of chemical weapons in every possible way. Addressing an international seminar on ‘The Consequences of the Use of Chemical Weapons against Iran’ here on Monday, Abbas Araghchi expressed regret that those countries which armed former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein with nuclear weapons during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran in the 1980s are still insisting on their previous stances and criteria.
“We believe that annihilation of chemical weapons of all types and in all forms is the most important task to do,” he said and called for the planning of solutions and mechanisms to restore the rights of those who have been harmed by chemical attacks before the establishment of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC).
