Serbian Parliament to analyze options for recognising Abkhazia, South Ossetia

During the visit to Moscow newly elected Serbia President Tomislav Nikolic commented that the Serbian parliament might examine the option for possible recognition of the independence of the separated Georgian republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Speaking with the media the Serbian president said that the parliament should discuss the situation after the short Russian-Georgian war in 2008 and the separation of the two republics.

According to Nikolic, the situation in Abkhazia and South Ossetia could not be compared to the one in Kosovo.
