Indonesian death toll climbs to 654 from Monday’s quake, tsunami

JAKARTA (CNN) — Indonesia’s National Task Force for Disasters Saturday released new casualty figures for this week’s earthquake and resulting tsunami.

According to the agency, the disaster has killed 654 people, injured 978 and left 329 people missing. Monday’s natural disaster displaced 109,953 people. (Posted 12:08 a.m.)
