TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hoseini here on Thursday stressed that the US is seeking to poison Iran-EU nuclear talks, adding that continued adoption of inharmonious stances pushes the US into further isolation.
A statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau said that Hoseini, in reaction to the recent statements by the spokesman of the US Secretary of State, announced, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is loyal to the talks in a bid to achieve its legitimate and inalienable rights and it believes that negotiation is the only way to solve the issue.”
He further charged the United States with the intensification of pressures on both sides to upset the atmosphere dominating the talks and disturb the present trend of negotiations.
“The United States seeks to push its unilateral goals forward through posing threats and bullying and it is continuing with its negative propaganda and psychological war on the Islamic Republic in order to poison and deviate Iran-West talks.”
The diplomat also asserted that Iran and the other party are seeking to solve the issue through talks and the support for Iran’s stances by the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) yesterday and the Movement’s insistence on continued talks should serve as a warning signal to the US that its continued inharmonious stances cause further isolation for that country.
Hoseini reiterated, “If the US is honestly inclined towards talks, it needs to show a little patience.”
