TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad underlined that the era of imperialism and big powers has come to its end.
Speaking in a meeting with the president of North Korea’s Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA) Presidium on the sidelines of the 14th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in the Cuban capital city of Havana on Friday, Ahmadinejad noted the close stances and viewpoints shared by the Islamic Republic of Iran and North Korea in the face of international issues, specially in campaign against the hegemony of Imperialism.
He further called for the promotion and development of all-out ties between Tehran and Piong Yong.
Ahmadinejad also stressed the need for increasing solidarity and unity of all the independent states of the world, saying that such countries must develop their ties and increase their cooperation in all the various economic, industrial and political areas in a bid to serve their national interests.
He also voiced Tehran’s full support for North Korea’s nuclear rights, and underscored that Iran condemns US measures aimed at depriving Korean nation of its nuclear rights, adding that the final victory will be for the courageous nation and government of North Korea.
For his part, president of North Korea’s Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA) Presidium Kim Yong Il stated that the stances of the Iranian president have attracted world’s attention, “which shows that the Islamic Revolution of Iran is getting increasingly fruitful.”
“Imperialism has come close to its final days,” he said, reminding that the strategic ties between Iran and North Korea have been established on their joint campaign against imperialism.
Kim Yong Il stressed his country’s solidarity and companionship with the Islamic Republic and pointed out, “Iran has adopted a very strong stance against the United States and thus, North Korea, hereby, declares its full support and solidarity with the Iranian government.”
He also stressed Iran’s entitlement to development of its peaceful nuclear programs.
The Korean official further praised the speeches made by the Iranian president at the 14th NAM summit, asserting that Ahmadinejad’s words will certainly inspire different world countries and nations in future.
He reminded that the UN Security Council has proved its double standard approaches by ratifying a resolution against Iran and keeping silent in the face of the Israeli aggressions against Lebanon.
