President: Sacrilege to Islam sign of enemies weakness

soodan.jpgPresident Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Saturday that the current world condition serves the world of Islam and Muslim nations and considered insult to Islam and Muslims as a sign of the enemies weakness.
The president made the remark in a meeting with his Sudanese counterpart Umar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement summit here.
Turning to the insult made by some Westerners to Islam and Muslims, he said, “If Muslim states stand side by side and unite on the basis of their commonalties, no one can pose any threat to them.”
Ahmadinejad expressed satisfaction with the upward trend of Tehran-Khartoum ties in various fields and said, “Officials of both countries should endeavour to further bolster the brotherly ties and nothing should obstruct promotion of ties between our two Muslim states.”
The president said pressures imposed by US-led global arrogance on a number of Muslim states are aimed to sow discord among Muslims and weaken them.
“The United States, with its hegemonic nature, is ready to sacrifice the interests of other nations to attain its expansionist goals. “The only way to stand up against it is to resist and not to back off. Therefore the resistance of the Sudanese government and nation against the US is the only way to success and victory,” said the president.
Ahmadinejad stressed Iran’s full support for the independence and territorial integrity of Sudan.
The Sudanese president briefed his Iranian counterpart on the latest developments in his country, Darfur in particular, and outlined US efforts to foment discord and crisis in his country.
The Sudanese government and nation will proceed along their path towards independence and success by resisting against these pressures, al-Bashir vowed.
He said Sudan was willing to use Iran’s experiences in various fields including agriculture, industry and livestock breeding. He also stressed Khartoum’s support for Iran’s inalienable right to acquire peaceful nuclear technology. Turning to the recent victory of the Lebanese Hezbollah against the Zionist regime, he said the victory opened a new chapter in the achievements of the world of Islam.
