Ahmadinejad: Global Peace, Tranquility Impossible without Justice

Speaking at a meeting with members of the ‘Peace-Proponent’ Church of New York, Ahmadinejad responded to different questions, specially about the role of divine religions (the ones presented to man by Abraham and his descendents as God’s prophets) in the promotion of global peace and stability.

Replying to another question about the reason for his dismissal of the Holocaust and its repercussion, he clarified that Iran respects all religions and peoples but does not preclude it from questioning propaganda promoting an official party.

“In reaction to the three questions we raised about the Holocaust, instead of getting rational responses we received nothing but hue and cry,” he added.

On the role of various religious factions in encouraging proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and nuclear weapons, the president said that Iran, with its religious system, does not need nuclear weapons, adding that these are even banned by the country’s highest religious figure.

“Various groups representing different countries can be formed to inspect the nuclear installations of Iran and the US. The global media are welcome to our nuclear centers although we are still at the initial stage of our peaceful nuclear activities,” he added.

Asking participants at the meeting whether the US would admit that it has produced and used nuclear weapons, he said its admission would best answer the question of who the real threat to the world is.

Concerning slogans such as ‘Down with the US’ raised by Iranians, he said that there was no cause for anger as they are not addressed to the American nation but to the aggressive, unjust, warmongering and bullying US policies.

His remarks came in response to a question as how Iranians would react if the same things were said to them. Angry slogans raised by Iranians these days are reminiscent of those chanted against the US government for its support for the Pahlavi regime and its hostile approach to the Islamic Revolution, Iraqi-imposed war and support for terrorist groups.

The president stressed that the Iranian nation respects the American people and wish them prosperity, happiness and a good life.

Meanwhile, he referred to the offer of the Iranian nation of help to the American nation when the country was severely devastated by the Katrina storm in its south which the US Administration rejected.

Stating that the mission of all prophets was to direct man to perfection, he mentioned, “At any point in the course of history when a group of people anywhere in the world put their instructions into practice, they actually set themselves as examples of peace, order and progress and served as role models for ideal communities,” he said.

Ahmadinejad referred to the practice of monotheism, enforcement of justice and respect for the human being as the Divine Prophets’ three injunctions to humanity, adding that it was impossible to achieve global peace without justice.

“Justice is the foundation of a peaceful, brotherly and honorable social system just as respect for human dignity, rights and the persona was of high priority to the prophets,” he added.
