China, Iran Cooperate in Standardization

A0117749.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Chinese ambassador to Tehran called for Sino-Iran cooperation in the field of standard.

Speaking in a meeting with the head of Iran’s Standards and Industrial Research Institute, the diplomat voiced China’s enthusiasm for developing cooperation with Iran in areas of shrimp and fish farming, agriculture and forestry.

Reminding the two countries’ joint ventures in the different grounds of transportation, dam construction, telecommunications and power plant building, he expressed the hope that Sino-Iran cooperation would boost on a daily basis.

The Beijing ambassador to Tehran pointed to the large volume of transactions between the two states, and stated that Iran and China are in need of enhanced cooperation between their standard institutes for further development of mutual trade ties.

He also called on the Iranian traders to import high-quality goods from his country.

For his part, head of Iran’s Standards and Industrial Research Institute welcomed the Chinese ambassador’s call for enhanced cooperation between the two countries’ standard institutes and said that his institute has utilized all its potentials for the exchange of information and data, training and control of the quality of imported and exported goods in a bid to upgrade the quality of the market products.

He reminded that low-quality imports will not have a good share of the market in the long run, stressing that Iranian consumers pay close attention to the quality of products.

Towfiq also stated that the two countries’ cooperation in the field of standards would certainly be beneficial to both Iranian and Chinese people.

He further briefed the Chinese diplomat about the potentials and capabilities of his institute and voiced preparedness of Iran’s Standards and Industrial Research Institute for transferring its experiences and capabilities to the Chinese quality control experts.

He also mentioned that exchange of visits to the two countries’ standards institutes by Iranian and Chinese experts would pave the ground for the two sides’ cooperation in this field.
