Ahmadinejad Views Peace, Justice Prerequisites for World Progress

A0243143.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed that the world progress requires establishment of peace, fraternity and tranquility as well as materialization of justice.

According to a statement released by the Presidential Press Office, Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with the Speaker of North Korean People’s Assembly Choe Thae Bok here on Saturday.

During the meeting, the president noted the intervention of arrogant powers, including the Untied States, in the domestic affairs of other countries and their efforts to sow seeds of discord among the world nations.

Reiterating that the different world issues, including the question of the two Koreas, could be solved through dialogue and mutual understanding, he underlined Iran’s insistence on nuclear disarmament in all parts of the world, including the Korean Peninsula.

Ahmadinejad further pointed to the desirable relations between Iran and North Korea, and stated his satisfaction with the identical views the two countries’ share about the different world issues, including the need for defending the legal rights of the nations.

He also stressed that Tehran-Pyongyang economic ties must develop as extensively and rapidly as their political relations, given the two countries’ abundant potentials and profound enthusiasm for the expansion of ties.

For his part, Speaker of North Korean People’s Assembly Choe Thae Bok noted the resistance of the Iranian nation and government against the plots of world imperialism and the US, and assured that the Iranian people, under the thoughtful leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, will achieve progress and welfare in the various areas.

The official also pointed to the significance of the development of his country’s ties with Iran, and stressed that North Korea spares no efforts to develop and expand relations and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
