President: Development of visual media not to reduce impact of radio

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here Monday underlined the role and special status of radio in the community, adding that development of visual media will not limit the impact of this effective media.

He made the remark while speaking at a gathering of the managers, artists and staff of the radio broadcast as he visited various sections of the Islamic Republic Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

The chief executive noted that what is broadcast on radio will always be remembered.

“One’s heartfelt affection and love for others as well as concerns and worries can be transferred optimally by voice,” added the president.

Turning to the significance and difficulty of conveying the subjects in question by radio and underlining the importance of words and dialogue in cultural exchange, he said, “Fortunately, the national radio broadcast is a diverse and effective media.

Ahmadinejad stressed that the programs broadcast by radio should safeguard the Persian literature and language, given that Persian is the identity of Iranians.

The president called on the staff of radio to do their best to broadcast the voice of Iranian nation worldwide and let it be heard by the world nations.

After his speech, the president toured various sections of IRIB including Sahar, al-Alam, Kosar and 31 overseas radio stations broadcasting programs for four continents
