N. Issue Poses No Challenge to Iran

Addressing a congregation of the public in the northern city of Babol Tuesday night, Larijani pointed out that the UN Security Council draft resolution on Iran is another plot by the US to sow discord among the Iranians, specially at the threshold of the upcoming elections.

“The United States and other enemies are all viewing Iran’s domestic conditions and affairs and they are striving to misuse political groupings which happen at the time of each election in every world country,” he said.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary also said the United States has now realized that Iran’s significant role in the world has resulted from populism and public resistance inside the country.

He also stated that the fruits of the movement of populism which was founded by the late Imam Khomeini can now be viewed in the Middle-East countries, with the recent victory of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement against the Israeli regime being one of such fruits.

Iran is waiting for Experts’ Assembly, city councils, and midterm legislative elections on this Friday.
