TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader Seyed Ahmad Khatami here on Friday said that the ruling by an EU court for lifting the freeze on the assets of the MKO members is a sign of the west’s support for terrorism.
Addressing a fervent congregation of worshipers on Tehran University Campus here on Friday, Khatami stressed that some international organizations and bodies do nothing but lying.
Considering the terrorist measures taken by the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), issuance of such a decree by the European court is synonymous with awarding a trophy to terrorism and terrorists, he continued.
Elsewhere he noted the Israeli prime minister’s acknowledgment that the Zionist regime is equipped with nuclear bombs, and said that the Israeli regime should have been condemned following Olmert’s confessions, adding, “But none of the international organizations, including the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the United Nations (UN) have shown any reaction in this regard.”
“This is while on many occasions, they have been making hues and cries against Iran’s access to peaceful nuclear technology,” he continued.
Referring to the release of an insulting statement by some Vahabite clergies in Saudi Arabia, the cleric pointed to the enemies’ efforts to provoke eruption of a war between Muslim Shiites and Sunnites, and called on those in charge of the statement to refrain from being a puppet of the world arrogance and US.
He also warned Saudi police about their mistreatment of the Iranian pilgrims in Baqi’ Cemetery, and said, “Saudis must know that they have insulted the entire Iranian nation with 70 million population.”
In another part, Khatami stressed that Iran is no threat to regional countries, and continued, “Rather, these are the United States, Britain and Israel which have posed the greatest threats to the world community.”
Regarding a UN draft resolution on Iran, he warned that his country will reciprocate any decision that is made against the Iranian nation with a similar measure.
