Quake Hits Eastern Iran

A01399767.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale jolted Dasht-e Kavir in Iran’s Semnan province Tuesday afternoon.

The seismological base of Semnan province registered the quake at 16:35 hours local time (13:05 GMT).

The quake was epicentered in an area measuring 52.69 degrees in longitude and 34.40 degrees in latitude.

There are yet no reports on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties.

Hectic fault lines have made Iran a host to frequent earthquakes of varying degrees in magnitude.
