TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here on Sunday described the recent moves by the United States as a marathon of psychological war against Iran.
Speaking in a joint meeting with his Qatari counterpart Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabir al-Thani, the Iranian top diplomat stressed the point that the US has resorted to such measures in a bid to pave the way for the implementation of its plans in Iraq, but further stressed, “I believe Americans are not capable of continuing this path.”
He also viewed efforts to sow discord between the Islamic Republic and regional countries as fruitless, and continued, “We believe that the progress and power of any of the regional countries serve Iran’s power and progress.”
Noting the issue of Iraq, Mottaki stressed that Tehran seeks restoration of peace, security and stability in that country, and further mentioned, “The claims made by the Americans are in contradiction with their actions.”
He further pointed to the issue of Palestine, and said no plan would ever succeed in solving the Palestinian issue unless a just peace plan is devised which guarantees full restoration of the Palestinian nation’s rights.
