Parliament Speaker Underlines Scholars’ Role in Defusing Plots

Iranian Parliament Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel stressed the need for Muslim scholars to show enhanced activity in promoting Islamic vigilance and defusing enemies’ plots. Addressing worshippers in Lahore’s Friday Prayers in Pakistan today, Haddad Adel commemorated the Week of Unity and the birthday anniversary of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), and reiterated the necessity for Muslims’ unity and solidarity.

He further called on all Muslims and lovers of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) to give up differences and strive to cement Islamic solidarity.

The Iranian top legislative official pointed to enemies’ plots for damaging the identity of the Islamic Ummah (nation) as a main goal, and underlined the vital role of the Muslim Ulema (scholars and jurisprudents) in promulgating vigilance in the world of Islam and defusing enemies’ plots.

He also viewed Muslim unity as the most important factor contributing to the progress of the Islamic societies and preventing differences and conflicts in and among them.

Elsewhere, the chief lawmaker noted the cultural, religious and political commonalities of Iran and Pakistan, and underscored that the two states can play a significant role in the settlement of the problems of the Muslim community.
