North Ossetia Keen to Expand Ties with Iran

North Ossetia’s prime minister voiced his republic’s enthusiasm for the expansion of relations with Iran. Addressing a ceremony at an exhibition of 4 Iranian artists at the central museum of Vladicaucasus in North Ossetia to mark Iran’s cultural week, the Ossetian premier noted the two nations’ ethnic commonalities and common language, and said, “Ossetia’s government has named this year as the ‘Year of Culture’, and Iran is the first country which has stabilized its cultural presence in our country during this year.”

He further voiced his country’s enthusiasm for developing ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and expressed the hope that holding of Iran’s Cultural Week would serve as a new step towards expansion of relations between the two Iranian and Ossetian nations.

Also during the same ceremony, Iran’s ambassador to Russia Ansari appreciated officials of the Republic of North Ossetia and expressed hope that a proper opportunity would be provided for the Iranian people to learn more about the culture of Ossetia in person.
