Iran, Tajikistan Stress Preservation of Common Identity

A01850216.jpgTajikistan’s culture minister and governor general of Iran’s northeastern province of Khorassan Razavi in a meeting on Wednesday stressed the need for the preservation of the two countries’ joint identity and utilization of all potentials for the development of both states.  During the meeting, the Tajik minister said that the two sides are due to ink a memorandum of understanding on cultural cooperation, particularly in the field of media.

Mirzoshohrukh Asrorov pointed out that endorsement of such MoUs in the different cultural and media areas would lead to the promotion of culture in his country.

He also voiced pleasure in his visit to Iran, where people speak the same language and share the same roots with the Tajik nation, expressing inclination for a visit to his country by an official Iranian delegation.

For his part, governor general of Iran’s Khorassan Razavi province said that he is scheduled to sign five cooperation agreements with the Tajik government during his Friday visit to that country to inaugurate Iran’s exhibition in Tajikistan’s capital city of Dushanbe.

Mohammad Javad Mohammadi-zadeh mentioned that the said agreements will include cooperation in the different areas of industry and agriculture, trade and commerce, infrastructural projects for the construction of trade and housing units.

He also pointed to the two countries’ commonalities, and said that exchange of visits by the two sides’ officials could be used as an opportunity to study and discuss a variety of subjects in the different spheres of literature and culture, history, economy, etc.
