Text of Speech by Mr. Mouloud Aounit, Chairman of MRAP (Mouvement contre le Racisme et pour l’Amitié entre les Peuples) in gathering of 50,000 Iranians in Paris in support of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran:
I would like to salute the Iranian Resistance for making this concept [resistance] a reality, beyond mere words. Indeed, you are part of a resistance, which succeeded in washing away the abuses it was subjected to, such as the shameful raids of June 17th, 2003, thanks to your determination and the just and true values you embody. You have given real meaning to France, the land of human rights.
I express my gratitude to your resistance, which has effectively discredited this [terrorist] slander from which you suffer today, and which constitutes as an insult to all the defenders of human rights. I am convinced that through your efforts, and through the righteousness of your struggle, we will make the Resistance triumph.
Resistance, and the struggle you lead, are only meaningful through such unity, which has awakened the French and compelled them protect you.
Long live the Iranian people’s Resistance,
Long live Maryam Rajavi,
Long live the solidarity between the French and the Iranian peoples.
