Security forces have seized almost a tonne of explosive materials in the first half of the year, Zaman newspaper reported on Tuesday (July 3rd).
Rebels from the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) reportedly staged 211 bombing attempts between January and June, resulting in 78 explosions.
On Monday, meanwhile, the US embassy in Ankara issued a statement denying that US forces are supplying weapons to PKK camps in northern Iraq. The statement was in response to allegations by four PKK members who surrendered to Turkish forces at the weekend.
