Egyptian postal workers occupy

1157.jpgEgyptian postal workers occupied the Egyptian Postal Service building in the capital Cairo last week.

The workers had been in occupation since Monday of last week demanding the reinstatement of their contracts.

Security forces arrested five workers accusing them of “theft” and “destruction of public property”.

They threatened the rest of the workers if the sit-in wasn’t disbanded. The workers refused, but after running short of water agreed to end their occupation.

The postal workers won many of their demands, including equal pay.
