Iran Exports Cars to 35 World Countries

A024709813.jpgDeputy Industries and Mines Minister Mehdi Mofidi said that Iran is now exporting cars to 35 world countries. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the International Car Exhibition in the northeastern city of Mashhad, Mofidi said Iran has exported 22,000 cars this year, and expressed the hope that the figure would be increased to 120,000 in coming years.

He said Iran manufactures 1,050,000 cars annually, adding that Iranian car manufacturers are endeavoring to increase production by 100,000 cars this year.

The official also said that Iran plans to manufacture 2 mln cars in the near future, “30% of which will be for exports”.
