Quake Hits Tehran

An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale jolted Javad Abad in Tehran province on Saturday. The National Seismological Center affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 13:37:36 hours local time (10:07:36 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area measuring 52 degrees in longitude and 34.9 degrees in latitude.

No reports have yet been received on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quake.
