A009543019.jpgGiven the successful flight of the Iran-made Azarakhsh fighter jet, the second generation of this fighter, called Saeqeh (Thunder blot) will soon start flying across the Iranian sky, Defense Minister Brigadier General Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said. Speaking to reporters in the southern province of Bushehr on Saturday, Najjar also said that his ministry’s experts have launched a project for designing an Iranian helicopter.

He further pointed to the projects to be launched by his ministry on the occasion of the Week of Government, and said that the production line for the manufacture of a smart bomb called Qased (Messenger) would become operational next week.

Najjar said that his ministry would soon announce good news about the country’s progress in the field of aerospace.

He said that the defense ministry’s products not only provide for the needs of the Iranian armed forces, but are also exported to 50 different countries.

“At present the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are fully prepared to respond to any kind of enemy threat,” the minister said underlining that Iranian armed forces are more powerful than ever.

Elsewhere, he said the entire world is confident that Iran’s nuclear activities are peaceful, “and it is just the world arrogance, led by the US, that is accusing Iran of producing Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs).”

“Nuclear energy is a technology, science and progress and the whole world is following this path,” he reminded, saying that Iran is also obliged to replace its energy resources, considering that fossil energy resources are not durable.

Najjar said that the US is actually concerned about Iran’s progress and access to modern technologies, “because once this is done, the United States’ monopoly over science is broken and Iran will set an example for all freedom-seeking countries.”

Elsewhere, he noted the recent efforts made by the US to blacklist Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and stressed, “The real terrorist is the US and the world arrogance which are shedding the blood of innocent and defenseless people in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Palestine and other world countries.”

The defense minister further referred to the atrocities of the Zionist regime of Israel in the occupied territories, and said that at present Israel has large stockpiles of WMDs, specially nuclear warheads, reminding that Tel Aviv is posing a great threat to regional countries.
