Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Wednesday extended his congratulations to Abdullah Gul and the Turkish nation and government on his election as the country’s president. In his message, Ahmadinejad voiced pleasure in Gul’s election as Turkey’s president and felicitated him and his country on the occasion, a statement released by the Presidential Press Office said.
“I am confident that the two Muslim nations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Turkey will witness further expansion of their all-out ties under your Excellency’s presidency,” he added.
He further wished health, success and welfare for Abdullah Gul and the Turkish nation and government.
