Iran Ready to Aid Afghan Nation with Progress

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad voiced Tehran’s permanent preparedness to assist Kabul in attaining welfare and progress. Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with Afghanistan’s visiting Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Spanta here in Tehran on Tuesday, a statement released by the Presidential Press Office said.

During the meeting, the president underlined that problems could not prevent progress of any given country, and assured that the efforts made by the Afghan nation and government would yield fruits and bring progress to that country.

For his part, the Afghan foreign minister praised Iran’s continued aids and assistance to his country.

“Afghanistan has always enjoyed Iran’s aids and assistance to the prosperity of our country and welfare of the Afghan people,” Spanta underlined.
