Russian President Vladimir Putin is to visit Iran on October 16 to attend the summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states, Iran‘s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here on Tuesday evening.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in the Russian capital city, the minister said in addition to participating in the summit, President Putin will discuss major issues, including all-out bilateral relations, with senior Iranian officials.
The Iranian minister is currently in Moscow at the head of an economic delegation to attend a session of Iran-Russia joint economic commission.
Russia’s Atomic Energy Chief Sergei Kiriyenko will head the Russian delegation in the meeting.
Mottaki further told reporters that he would discuss “other bilateral and regional issues” with Kiriyenko.
He added that the two officials would make preparations for the upcoming visit to Tehran of the Russian president.
