Rohani-Solana Meeting Postponed

A scheduled meeting between Iran’s former top nuclear negotiator and secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Hassan Rohani and EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana was postponed to an unknown date. Rohani and Solana agreed to put off the meeting during a phone conversation on Wednesday, where they discussed Middle-East issues and conditions.

Rohani, who is currently the head of the Expediency Council’s Center for Strategic Research, is in Germany to meet different officials of that country.

During the visit, which took place at the invitation of the German foundation ‘Courber’, Rohani conferred with advisor to the German Chancellor about regional and international issues, including Iran’s nuclear case, and addressed a meeting of German MPs and elites.

Rohani will wrap up the visit and come back to Iran after he attends a meeting with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier this afternoon.

The former Iranian official was due to address the European parliament in Brussels on Thursday but he cancelled the visit.
