Iran’s Participation in Talks with US Aimed at Helping Iraq’s Security

A033458215.jpgIranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki reminded his Serb counterpart that the three rounds of talks between Iran and the US sought to assist the Iraqi government with the establishment of security in that country.During the meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 62nd annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Mottaki also noted the potentials of Iran and Serbia, and stressed the need for the expansion of the two states’ bilateral ties and economic cooperation in third countries, in the Middle-East region in particular.

He further briefed Serbia’s foreign minister about the latest conditions in the Middle-East region as well as the issues of Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan.
