Armed Man Takes Hostage in Tehran

An armed man entered a shop in western Tehran Monday morning and took the shop owner hostage.FNA reports said that the assailant who was armed with a pistol shot his hostage five times before he surrendered to the police.

The wounded shop owner has been dispatched to the hospital and is reportedly in critical conditions.

Investigations are underway by Tehran’s police about the possible motivations behind the incident.
