Mottaki to Leave for Baghdad

A031190618.jpg Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki is due to pay a daylong visit to Baghdad on Wednesday. During the trip, Mottaki is scheduled to confer with Iraqi officials about bilateral ties and regional issues.

The Iranian foreign minister has just come back home from a one-day visit to Damascus, Syria on Monday, where he attended meetings with different Syrian officials on bilateral issues, regional developments, terrorist activities in northern Iraq and the upcoming ministerial meeting of Iraq’s neighboring states.

Istanbul is due to host a meeting of the foreign ministers of Iraq’s neighbors, permanent UN Security Council members and the Group of Eight Industrialized Countries (G8) on November 2 and 3.
