Iran Likely to Accept US Demand for Continued Talks on Iraq

A031190628.jpgIran said on Wednesday that it views “positively” a US demand for more talks on improving Iraq’s security. Washington has said it is willing to attend a new round of talks with its arch foe, Iran, to restore law and order in the war-torn Iraq.

“About the readiness of the Americans for a new round of talks … I respond that we do consider positively this initiative,” Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki told a joint news briefing in Baghdad with his Iraqi counterpart Hoshiyar Zebari.
