Ahmadinejad Invites PGCC Summit to Tehran

A00097128.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is currently in Doha, Qatar to attend a summit of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, proposed that the next PGCC summit be held in Tehran.

Addressing the PGCC heads of state summit on Monday, Ahmadinejad also made 11 more proposals to further consolidate ties and cooperation among the Persian Gulf littoral states.

“Through assistance and coordination, we can turn the Persian Gulf into a Gulf of peace, friendship and brotherhood for good,” he said.

The Iranian president further invited the participant heads of state as well as the PGCC secretary to bring the next summit to Tehran in a bid to discuss the different cooperation grounds touched in his proposals.
