Deputy Interior Minister Resigns

A01802266.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iran’s Deputy Interior Minister for security and law enforcement affairs Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr has resigned from his post, informed sources said on Friday.

Sources also told FNA that the minister has not yet accepted Zolqadr’s resignation.

Meantime, Interior Ministry’s General Director for Public Relations Majid Malekan strongly denied the report, saying that the news is “mere fabrication of information and incorrect”.

“Such rumors intend to undermine the government and are mere fabrication and unfounded,” Malekan said.

Earlier an informed source dismissed reports about Zolqadr’s resignation, but said that the deputy interior minister has been absent from work for the last two or three days.

“Yet, his resignation is a lie and Zolqadr is still in charge of the post,” he added.
