TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iran will be announcing bidding for its 19 nuclear power plants, an MP was quoted as saying.
Rapporteur of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Kazem Jalali said each power plant would have a capacity of 1,000 megawatts, the Iran News reported on Monday.
“The contract for building 19 power plants … will in the near future be put on an international tender,” Jalali said.
Russia said last week it had begun fuel deliveries to Iran’s Bushehr power plant.
Iran had said it would not stop efforts to enrich uranium. Iranian officials say domestically-produced fuel is needed for other power plants it wants to build as part of a planned network with a capacity for 20,000 megawatts by 2020.
