Father of Iran’s Storytelling Dies

A0369935.jpgTEHRAN (FNA) Hamid Ameli, a renowned radio host and father of Iran’s storytelling, died of lung cancer at the age of 66 here on Sunday.

Ameli who had experienced a long-time struggle with his killing disease, was hospitalized in the ICU ward of Kasra hospital after his general health conditions aggravated last night.

Ameli, who launched his career in Iranian radio in 1971, told short and long stories, and was mainly remembered and adored for his special radio program titled as “A Story a Holiday” broadcast every Friday for the last 33 years.

Ameli was also the host in a number of other very well-known radio programs, addressing social life or including stories and radio acts.

Fars News Agency expresses its condolences to Ameli’s bereaved family and all art lovers on the demise of the Father of Iran’s Storytelling who will be remembered for good.
