Iran’s Gas Exports to Be Resumed only After Satiating Domestic Needs

A033411026.jpgTEHRAN (FNA) An Iranian official said on Saturday that Iran would not resume gas deliveries to Turkey early next week if it cannot meet domestic demand, after Ankara said it would happen by Monday at the latest.Iran, one of Turkey’s main suppliers, has blamed the Jan. 7 halt in deliveries to its neighbor on cold weather and a cut in Turkmen gas supplies.

“The president (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) has ordered that until we meet domestic demands we are not allowed to export gas anywhere,” Ebadollah Ghanbari, head of the public relations unit of the National Iranian Gas Company, said.
