Quake Hits Northern Iran

A009017210.jpgTEHRAN (FNA) An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale jolted the areas in the vicinity of the town of Shahmirzad in Iran’s northern province of Semnan on Monday.According to the seismological base of Semnan affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake was registered at 11:24 hours local time (07:54 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area measuring 53.29 degrees in longitude and 35.95 degrees in latitude.

No reports have yet been received on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quakes.
