Talking to reporters after a parliamentary meeting in Kuwait, Sheikh Al-Salem advocated strengthening ties with Tehran and said, “Tehran and Kuwait share common strategic goals and both seek the restoration of stability in Iraq.”

According to a Press TV report, Sheikh Al-Salem added that his recent visit to Tehran had no links with US President George Bush’s tour to the Middle East.

“The visit was scheduled last month and was within the framework of a working plan for the joint Iran-Kuwait commission meeting,” he explained.
