Iranian Speaker to Leave for Egypt Tuesday

A02796368.jpgTEHRAN (FNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel is due to pay a visit to Cairo to attend the fifth meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Member states (PUOICM) in Egypt on Tuesday.

During the four-day visit, which will take place upon official invitation of the Egyptian Speaker of the People’s Assembly (Parliament) Ahmed Fathi Sorour, the Iranian speaker is scheduled to address PUOICM and attend meetings with his Muslim counterparts as well as Egyptian academicians, elites and cultural figures.

Muslim parliament speakers are due to discuss issues related to Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, and exchange views about economic cooperation among Islamic countries and cultural issues of the world of Islam in their Cairo meeting.

The PUOICM was established at Iran’s proposal and has 47 members now.

The Iranian chief legislator is then slated to pay a three-day visit to Sudan at the invitation of his Sudanese counterpart Ahmad Ebrahim al-Taher.

During the trip, Haddad Adel is due to confer with the country’s president, parliament speaker, vice-presidents and foreign minister about bilateral ties and other issues of mutual interest.

He will then attend meetings with Sudanese elites, academics and cultural figures.
