Iran: Palestinians Should Decide

A03550035.jpgTEHRAN (FNA) – Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili says peace in the occupied territories can only be achieved through democratic means.

“We believe that occupation and coercion do not give legitimacy. Everything must be determined by democratic process; that is the only solution,” a Press TV report quoted Jalili as saying in an interview with EuroNews.

Jalili said the Palestinian territories belong to all the inhabitants of that area including Jews, Christians and Muslims and all the people expelled from the Palestinian land must have the right to return to their motherland.

“They should have the opportunity to participate in a democratic process for self-determination; whatever the decision is, it must be respected,” he said.

Iran’s top negotiator said the real problem in negotiations with the US is Washington’s approach to the talks.

“When two sides are going to have negotiations, there is a question of how they are going to talk to each other, as two friends, two partners , two rivals, or two enemies,” he said.
