Iran Cultural Week Kicks off in Syria

A0076995.jpgTEHRAN (FNA) – Iran’s first cultural celebration has begun in Syria which is hoped to boost religious and recreational tourism between the two countries.

The week-long event was inaugurated by Iran’s tourism organization deputy director, Mohammad Sharif Malekzadeh, as well as Iran’s ambassador to Damascus and Syrian tourism minister on Wednesday, CHTN said on its website.

Iran’s ambassador to Damascus Ahmad Mousavi highlighted strong relations between Tehran and Damascus and called for strengthening the bond between the two nations through promoting tourism.

Syria’s Tourism Minister, Sadallah Agha al-Qala, also expressed the Arab republic’s readiness for expansion of tourism ties with Iran.
