TEHRAN (FNA) – Iranian Deputy Interior Minister Hojjatollah Ayoubi said on Sunday that the current status of Iranian women and their significant advancement in the country has made them a good model for countries in the region.
Speaking on the sidelines of a gathering on Communication Network of Women NGO’s in Iran, he said Iranian women play active role in the society and the non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) can create a new round for women’s contribution in tackling social affairs.
Status of Iranian women and the role of NGO’s to this end is very remarkable, he pointed out.
The Islamic revolution has brought dignity and pride for Iranian women, he said.
The two-day seminar aimed to represent views of women from various groups and organizations as well as religious minorities.
Over 500 Iranian women are attending the gathering in Kish Island.
